Delhi Monuments: Tickets, Opening Days and Metro Access
Choose a monument by its actual opening arrangements, admission category and final approach. Delhi sites do not share one Monday rule or one ticket price. Compare the date and visitor category below, then follow the venue’s official booking information. Treat museums, programmes and neighbouring parks as separate products unless the ticket explicitly includes them.
Which monument fits the date and visitor category?
Choose the intended date and your admission category to surface the weekly closure cautions below. This is a planning comparison, not a live availability or booking check. Confirm the venue’s current notice, ticket product and last admission before departure. The planner has its own visit date; selecting a date here does not change a saved trip.
Nationality-based categories differ from residency. Confirm eligible countries, identity evidence, concessions and the exact venue’s policy before choosing a ticket.

Is Red Fort open on Mondays?
Do not plan around the old blanket Monday-closure rule. PTI reported that an ASI order dated 13 February 2026 opened Red Fort on all days, including Monday. A weekly-opening policy does not remove security closures, restricted areas, special programmes or date-specific notices, so confirm the actual visit with ASI before buying or travelling.

What should I book?
Use the booking route provided by ASI and identify the Delhi Red Fort product, visitor category, date and purchase channel before paying. Read what it includes. Do not assume the main monument ticket includes every museum, exhibition or evening programme advertised nearby.
Where should I arrive?
Use the Lahori Gate visitor approach as orientation, then follow the current ticket and security arrangements. Lal Qila Metro can be part of the arrival, but neither a station pin nor a palace-centre pin is the final visitor gate. Keep screening and the walk inside separate from the visit estimate.
For the complete outing, read the fort, mosque and Chandni Chowk route. Mosque access and the market circuit remain separate decisions; missing one optional stop does not require a replacement across the city.
How do I compare ticket categories without buying the wrong one?
Start with the venue and named product rather than an approximate admission amount copied from a search result. Indian, specified regional and other international categories can differ. Concessions for children, students or other visitors also depend on the venue and the evidence requested; do not infer eligibility from where you currently live.
For Qutub, Delhi Tourism explicitly lists online and cash amounts for the named nationality groups. The table uses that distinction and changes its reference price when you select a category. It does not apply those amounts automatically to every ASI monument.
For Humayun’s Tomb, official tourism pages have differed on amounts and opening hours. Confirm the current ASI purchase channel rather than treating that discrepancy as proof of online-versus-cash pricing. Sunder Nursery has its own operator and ticket; a museum or programme may be separate again.
Before completing payment
Read the visitor date, category, inclusions, entry conditions and any refund or rescheduling terms. Use the channel reached from the official venue information. A cheaper-looking listing is not equivalent if it names a different visit, omits admission or bundles a service you do not need.
What changes at Lotus Temple and Akshardham?
These are active religious sites with their own visitor arrangements. The Lotus Temple operator lists Tuesday–Sunday opening and Monday closure; it also notes possible prayer-hall restrictions for overcrowding or heavy rain. Use the operator’s current information rather than a different seasonal-hours table elsewhere.
Akshardham’s operator also lists Monday closure. Entry, exhibitions and shows have different arrangements, with separate timings and security rules. Check restrictions on phones, cameras, bags and other belongings before leaving your base; discovering them at the entrance can change the whole outing.
Neither site is automatically a substitute for a closed fort or a rainy market day. Check the journey, opening and access for the intended date first. Use the operator links below for detailed visit rules. Choose either as a separate outing only after checking its opening, journey and access arrangements.

Choose one area before adding a second monument
Red Fort belongs to the Old Delhi outing. Humayun’s Tomb and Sunder Nursery form a neighbouring two-site day with separate gates. Qutub sits in south Delhi and works as another main visit. Combining all three areas means substantial cross-city movement; a map’s line between pins does not make that an efficient walking day.
Use the area selector on the map to review a local day, or preview the two- or three-day template. Applying a template replaces the open draft only after your choice, keeps named saved trips, and retains an existing starting area or T3–NDLS arrival checklist.
Visit allowances are editorial reading time inside or around the places, not a total journey budget. Keep queues, transfers, screening, water and seated rests separate. Remove an optional stop if the main visit uses your available energy; there is no need to fill every visible gap in a day.
Check the ticket and transport comparison before choosing a pass based on the number of monuments. Monument admission and Metro tickets pay for different things.
Photography, access and outdoor conditions
A photography rule can differ between grounds, prayer halls, museums, exhibitions and commercial shoots. Read the applicable operator rules rather than treating a general “photography allowed” listing as permission everywhere. Follow on-site instructions and ask before photographing people.
For access, ask about the actual circuit you want: public entrance, screening, paths, raised plinths, steps and toilets or other facilities where relevant. The presence of a wheelchair symbol or a nearby station does not establish a continuous step-free outing.
These plans include substantial outdoor exposure. Check IMD warnings and CPCB air information, then decide whether the outing suits your group. A garden or shorter market circuit is not an indoor alternative. Keep an independently checked indoor choice or postpone when conditions make the outdoor plan unsuitable.
Keep the correct visit date with the plan
After comparing a date here, choose that date explicitly in the itinerary planner and review each local day. A closure warning on this page does not reschedule an existing booking or change an already saved trip.
Questions before you go
Are all Delhi monuments closed on Mondays?
No. Check each venue. Lotus Temple and Akshardham operators list Monday closure; Red Fort Monday opening was reported after an ASI order. Weekly rules do not establish date-specific availability.
Can I use the same entry price at every ASI monument?
No. Check the named venue, eligibility and purchase channel. The Qutub price references in this table do not establish prices at Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb or a separately ticketed museum.
Does a map marker show the ticket gate?
No. These markers locate site areas. Follow the guide’s approach notes and current official signage to the public entrance, then check access for your selected circuit.
Will changing the date or category here change my saved itinerary?
No. The comparison is a reading aid. Open the planner, review the proposed stops and choose the trip date there. Named trips change only when you explicitly save or replace them.
