Dublin in one day: five stops, a walking route and your own plan
From the 1916 Rising to ancient treasures, a medieval cathedral and the brewery quarter. Follow the five places from our Short, then choose how much you want to go inside.
Preview first, then apply your choices. Your current draft and named saved trips stay unchanged until you explicitly choose to apply the preview.

The walk: north of the river to the Liberties
Start at the GPO on O'Connell Street, cross south for Trinity, continue to Kildare Street, then head west through Christ Church to the Guinness Storehouse. The roughly one-hour walk is separate from the visit estimates. Use the live route for crossings, diversions and your actual arrival point; it is not an audited step-free route.

60–90 minutes · Adult online from €15
Begin with the 1916 Rising at the museum inside the GPO. Looking at the street facade is a different, shorter stop and does not include the exhibition.
The operator lists Monday–Saturday opening from 10:00 and closure on Sundays and public holidays. Leave enough time for the museum before moving south across the Liffey.

About 90 minutes · Full Experience from €25
Make the manuscript and the full two-building Experience your booked visit. A campus walk or the shorter Old Library-only product is a different choice.
Book a timed slot with breathing room after the GPO. Most Long Room books have been removed for the redevelopment; check the current visitor experience before paying.

60–100 minutes · General admission free
Continue to Kildare Street and choose a few galleries: prehistoric gold, early medieval objects or a particular period you want to understand. A focused visit works better than trying to read every display.
Tuesday–Saturday opening is 10:00–17:00; Sunday and Monday start at 13:00. Individuals and families normally do not need to book. Check current notices before travelling.

About 60 minutes · Adult walk-in €12; online €11.50
Walk west to the cathedral for a change from the museums. Leave time for both the main church and the crypt if they are included and open during your visit.
Worship and events can change visitor access. On 21 October 2026 the crypt has an earlier last admission of 16:15; check the cathedral calendar for your date.

90–120 minutes · Standard Experience from €24
Finish in the brewery quarter with a separately booked Storehouse visit. The approach through the Liberties is part of the walk; a wayfinding sign is not the attraction entrance.
Book the exact experience and entry time. Last admission is normally 17:00 on weekdays and Sundays, and 18:00 on most Saturdays; hours vary by date, including winter Saturdays.
The €76 example combines GPO online from €15, the full Book of Kells Experience from €25, free museum entry, Christ Church walk-in €12 and the standard Guinness Experience from €24. Christ Church advertises a lower online price. These are separate ticket products and starting prices, not a combined pass or a quote for your date. Food, transport and extras are additional.
Visit times are approximate planning allowances. You can shorten the route by dropping stops in the planner; a shorter outside look is not equivalent to a full museum, exhibition or cathedral visit.
Make the route work for you
Bookings
Confirm Trinity and Guinness first. Leave room around each timed entry rather than letting the map decide your appointments.
Rain and energy
Keep fewer indoor anchors and use current TFI services or a taxi for the western transfer if needed. Recheck your walking distance when the route changes.
Access needs
Ask each attraction about its actual entrance, lifts, toilets and assistance. City-centre proximity does not establish a step-free route between them.
This is a researched route, not a claim that every attraction was visited on the same day. The Short's visual sequence is a planning overview; this page explains the practical choices.
